Sealegs, The Boat With Wheels

By

Reading time 1 minute

Sealegs is a rigid-inflatable boat with a handy feature: the ability to drive itself onto land. Retractable, powered wheels raise and lower on the outside of the boat, allowing pilots to drive directly in or out of the water without dealing with troublesome trailers. Of course, it can only putter about at around 10kph, but that’s enough to drive yourself up to a shed or back onto the beach without dragging bottom. Pricing information isn’t available directly, but it’ll cost around three grand just to ship from New Zealand to the United States, plus the price of the boat itself. And if you put a bigger propeller on the outboard engine I bet you could even break 20kph.
