Io9 2025 Spoiler

Somewhere Out There

THR reports Shawn Levy is attached to direct Somewhere Out There at Netflix, an “emotional sci-fi” film based on a spec script by Max Taxe. The story concerns “a grieving father who, after losing his wife, sends a message out into the stars…and something out there starts to talk back.”

A Quiet Place, Part III

A new social media post from John Krasinski confirms filming has begun on A Quiet Place, Part III.

Edge of Tomorrow 2

According to Collider, Edge of Tomorrow 2 “is not in active development, despite recent reports. However, Warner Bros. still hopes to make the movie in the future.”

Lice

Bloody-Disgusting has word that Lice, the upcoming creature feature about an outbreak of mind-controlling lice at a high school in Long Island, has been acquired by Magenta Light Studios for release early next year. Emilie Hirsch, Justin Long, and Kevin Connolly star.

Ray Gunn

Skywalker Sound shared some concept art from Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn on social media.

Masters of the Universe

The latest Masters of the Universe featurette asks, “Who is He-Man?”

Sex Criminals

Deadline reports Imogen Poots and John Reynolds will star as series leads Suze and Jon in the upcoming Sex Criminals TV series at Amazon. Like the comic it’s based on, the series concerns Suze (Poots) “a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon (Reynolds) who has the same gift. And so they do what any other sex having, time stopping couple would do: they rob banks.”

The Death of Sherlock Holmes

Deadline also reports Rafe Spall will star in a series exploring what happened after “the apparent death of Sherlock Holmes at the Reichenbach Falls. While the world believes the master detective perished in his final duel with Professor Moriarty, The Death of Sherlock Holmes reveals for the first time what happened during the three mysterious years between his disappearance in 1891 and his return in 1894—a chapter that Arthur Conan Doyle left untold and which now finds its story.”

The Punisher: One Last Kill

In a recent interview with Today, Judith Light discussed playing her mystery villain character heavily speculated to be Ma Gnucci in The Punisher: One Last Kill.

It’s gonna be a surprise. Jon Bernthal is just remarkable. Jon Bernthal wrote this with Reinaldo Marcus Green, who directed King Richard, and we did this in 12 days. The crew was amazing. Jon is extraordinary. We were able to go deep really fast. I think people will be surprised. I think they will really appreciate it. This is really about transformation and what it means to be a person who holds on to revenge. It’s really special.

Severance

Speaking with Deadline, Adam Scott suggested the wait between the second and third seasons of Severance will be much shorter than the second and first.

We’re definitely planning on getting it out much sooner than the last round, which was three years, which is too long.

Vought Rising

Finally, in a recent interview with Screen Rant, The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke suggested the upcoming spinoff series may “ask the audience to sympathize” with Soldier Boy, but never Stormfront.

In no way will I ever ask the audience to sympathize with Stormfront. She’s a Nazi, and she sucks. Soldier Boy? I think, if it’s teasing anything, it’s teasing that he really had feelings for Clara more than he had originally let on, and that you’ll see a lot of that play out in Vought Rising. You’ll understand a little bit more of what Soldier Boy and Bombsight’s relationship is, and why they resent each other, in Vought Rising.
