I know most of you will disagree with me, but I think it’s pretty cool that Sharp is selling this new 3-in-1 A/V deck that has not only a hard drive and a DVD burner, but a built-in VHS recorder as well. The Sharp DV-HRW35 will be able to cross-dub between formats, even from HDD back to VHS, if you like. Sure, it’s just one more moving part to break, taking the whole unit down with it, but there’s something pleasingly incongruous about simultaneous recording to HDD and VHS.
Did I mention it’s Japan only? I’m sure it will be.
