Blaming competition and slacking sales, Sharp has announced their intention to sell through their existing SL-6000 Linux-based handheld and then withdraw from the American PDA market. Sharp will continue to provide support and service for existing products lines for the immediate future. The company joins Sony and Toshiba in removing itself from the collapsing US market to nurse its wounds in Japan, likely to reevaluate the future of the PDA platform entirely.
