Sharp Mebius Muramasa “MP,” PC-MP70G, PC-MP50G

Sharp has a new Mebius Muramasa on the way (to Japanese stores) called the “MP,” or PC-MP70G and PC-MP50G, if you want to get model number about it. It’s a sub-notebook as should be expected from the Muramasa line, and although it isn’t the smallest laptop they make, in this instance that should be a good thing, what with the inclusion of a built-in DVD player; it’s over half as wide as the whole unit, if that gives you any idea of size. Edit: I thought it had a 1,600 x 1,200 screen, but it’s 1,024 x 768. The higher resolution is for externals (Thanks, Laio!)

Sharp’s laptops have been, in my experience, pretty fantastic machines, but they’ve also often been a little on the ‘too small’ side, especially when it comes to keyboards. It’s encouraging to see that they’ve used the full width of the machine for a keyboard now, not inexplicably trying to cram it all in the middle.
