While the original Reuters story is suffering from linkrot, Mobile Weblog gives us just enough information about Siemens new phone that can detect bad breath and alert you if you’re skanky to know that we want one. Details are slim, of course, but one would presume you have to breathe into a sensor, hopefully one in the mouthpiece, where you’re already breathing, and not some stick-out breathalizer tube that makes it obvious to everyone what you’re testing for.
And speaking of, how much harder would it be to develop a breathalizer test for alcohol levels? Then you could get know you had rancid breath and how many beers it took you to get it.
