Interesting bike design from Slingshot. This foldable city bike features a cable wire instead of a cross breamdown tube (Thanks, Yona) or whatever you call them. The wire allows for an inch of shock absorption and makes the bike considerably lighter.
Handmade in Michigan, Slingshot also produces off-road and racing bikes at about $2,200 a pop or $1,300 for just the frame. Trust us—we know you want to save some cash, but get the whole bike. The frame is really hard to ride.

Update: Several of you have pointed out that Puma also has a similar, cheaper model.
