Sony 3.31 Megapixel DCR-PC350 MiniDV Handycam

Sony’s new DCR-PC350 MiniDV Handycam jams a 3.31-megapixel CCD into a compact shell that weighs less than a pound. Each unit comes with a Handycam Station, a charging dock that connects to a TV or PC via S-Video, USB, or FireWire (i.LINK), to copy over data or display images or video straight from the camera. A 2.5-inch touchscreen LCD augments the rest of the controls, and a Memory Stick PRO Duo slot allows for a quick toss-in of additional storage (just for photos, not video, I would think). Small, light, and high-quality — no complaints here (although I wouldn’t mind a hard drive inside, too, if I’m free to wish).

Should be available in September for $1,300, “just in time for the holidays.” I had no idea Sony was so concerned about Rosh Hashanah. CyberShabot Shalom!
