PC World on Sony’s new multi-format recordable DVD drive. Frustratingly, there are two competing recordable DVD formats, DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW (at least each faction didn’t chose the same name for their format). Obviously when there are two competing standards, combo drives are the way to go, but you’d think that everyone involved would realize that it’s usually in the best interestst of manufacturers and consumers to settle on a single standard.
