I’ll be honest, I’m not sure exactly how the Pixie (PXE-DCM) from SPControls works. Best I can tell, it functions as a wall-mounted learning remote control, picking up basic functions from any other remote using the standard ‘point and learn’ technique of other learning devices. Then, I guess, you can use the Pixie to control the basic functions of your projector or plasma screen or whatever from the wall, instead of, you know, that handy remote. I’m not against this, per se, but it does seem a little weird that they don’t explain it in any more detail than they do. So it’s an IR light switch? How does it get power? So it’s all the benefits of a remote, minus most of the functionality, and stuck in a wall? Please rewrite your ad copy and give me a price so I may pan your product more thoroughly. (Thanks, Travis!)
