Until the dust settles there’s not much to talk about, but it’s worth noting that Sprint has officially announced its acquisition, making the new ‘Sprint Nextel’ corporation the third-largest wireless carrier in the country. What will be interesting is their plans to unify the CDMA technology that Sprint uses with the IDEN standard that Nextel uses. They’ve got a lot of public handshaking to do at the moment, though, so it’ll be a while.
