Just when you thought the iPhone's Giz-induced alternative moniker, the JesusPhone, was about to fade into obscurity, a Texas church has seen reason to bring it back. The Colleyville establishment has plastered a massive sign on one of its walls that is mightily reminiscent of the iPhone, with some rather interesting apps icons (anyone want to play Soldier with me?) Take a closer look after the jump.

However, at the risk of sounding like a pedantic little trollop, surely that should read iDentity, rather than identity? [Dark7]

DISCUSSION

I'm a Christian, however I'm not easily offended and I don't take things too seriously. It's so easy to get defensive for some people. Quite frankly I can see the point of some people's posts here. I think churches need to be far more creative in our "Marketing" instead of simply relying on manipulating the creativity of some hard working marketing team for apple or any other company. I understand that churches are trying to tap into what's current... but the exact people we're trying to reach look at us with rolling eyes as the type of "marketing" we use comes of merely as cheesy.

When churches do something creative... it may not be something a non-christian agrees with, but at least that person may be able to appreciate the creativity that went into the idea.

I think there is a huge difference between sharing your beliefs and shoving your beliefs down somebody's throat. I think Church advertising needs to be sensitive to that concept.
