We’ve been excited for Franklyn for almost a year now, and there’s finally a trailer for the movie, opening in London in January. In one of the movie’s four intersecting storylines, Ryan Philippe plays Jonathan Preest, a homicidal gun-toting superhero in a dystopian future where you’re required to believe in a religion… but they don’t care which one. So people worship the Washing Machine Street Preachers, whose religion is based on washing-machine instructions, and other loony sects. Can Ryan save us from our own cracked-out faith?
