
This seems dangerous: a crazy student is taking an old OutRun cabinet and plans to turn it into an actual working car that renders on screen what's actually in front of you.
A project of Garnet Hertz of the Pasadena Art Center College of Design, this is a classic OutRun arcade cabinet that's been placed on an EVT America Electric Trike with electric motors that can go up to a whopping 20MPH.

DISCUSSION
Having a bumper car ring filled with vehicles like this (with proper safety harnesses, bumpers, and so forth) might actually be a lot of fun. Bonus points if the other bumper cars would show up "virtually" in the Out Run videogame.
As for use on public roads, I suspect the Department of Licensing might take issue with the CRT air bag. Just a guess. #outrun
