A large majority of people polled in a JupiterResearch study group let out an uninterested sign when questioned whether better high-definition programming affects service provider selection. In fact, 94 percent of the group polled said high-definition programming wouldn't be a deciding factor at all — which, isn't as bad as the 97 percent of people who said they wouldn't care about a better selection of video-on-demand services. It appears cable service provider selection is more based on the pocketbook. An unsurprising 52 percent said they would switch services to get the same channels for a lower price. Heck, as long as we still get all fifty flavors of Law & Order, we'll go with whatever works.
