Online cellphone LetsTalk has conducted a survey of current cellphone users about how interested they are on the iPhone. The results? Things don’t look so hot for the iPhone.
In the survey, they asked current music phone users (we’re thinking Sony Ericsson Walkman phones and LG Chocolate owners) whether they wanted an iPhone, and 52% said no. Their reasoning? It either cost too much or they were happy with their current phone. Whether these same users will actually change their minds when they actually see the thing in action is anyone’s guess.
Also, apparently twice as many people said they buy music from other websites as they did from iTunes, which is also interesting seeing as iTunes has something like 80% of the current market share.
Of course, LetsTalk is an online reseller of phones, and the fact that they probably won’t be able to sell the iPhone—since it’s limited to Apple and Cingular distribution channels—may have something to do with why they commissioned this survey in the first place.
