Lately Syfy has been ramping up the press for their new 12 Monkeys series and Ascension, but what will come after these debuts? Well, wait no more, because the channel has optioned the comic book series Five Ghosts, which is apparently about using famous ghosts (including Dracula!) for monetary gains.
Syfy announced via press release that Image's "pulpy adventure comic" Five Ghosts is now currently in development to become a TV series. The pilot will be scripted by Evan Daugherty of Snow White and the Huntsman and Divergent fame and is centered around a 1930s treasure hunter who is possessed by various famous ghosts from the past, specifically Merlin, Robin Hood, Sherlock Holmes, the samurai Musashi Miyamoto and Dracula.
The comic was written by Frank J. Barbiere and illustrated by Chris Mooneyham, and that is honestly all I know about the project. Has anyone read the series? Can they vouch for it? Sounds a little wacky in a Warehouse 13 way, and that's nice.
