T-Mobile has released the Samsung X495, the successor to the Samsung X475 (which T-Mobile is still offering, albeit for free after rebate). Not too different from its predecessor, except for a longer battery life (up to 5 hours on talk time, and 8 days on standby), a speakerphone feature, and a black background on the external caller ID instead of a white one. Plus, well, it looks cooler ’cause it’s shinier. Other than that, the features are pretty standard: HiFi Ringers, Instant Messaging, voice messaging, predictive text input, etc.
Price with service plan is $49.95 (Retail price of $129.95, minus $80.00 discount), and with T-Mobile’s prepaid To Go service, it’s $99.99 for 60 minutes airtime. As for existing T-Mobile customers, the cool thing is that it’s also available on the handset upgrade list. This means that they can get the phone for $49.99 with the 1 year contract extension, and for $99.99 without.
