Another nail in Twitter’s coffin or perhaps the struggling social network finally figured out who she is? Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff—a man who once flirted with the idea of purchasing the site—told Recode’s Kara Swisher (emphasis ours):
“Don’t feed the trolls” used to be an internet saying, but now it’s a business strategy. Twitter lost bids from two potential acquirers because of the site’s reputation for allowing bullying, trolling, racism, sexism and other forms of lewd communication, according to a Bloomberg report.
Twitter stock crashed this morning, falling nine-percent, amidst reports from Re/code that Google and Disney—who were previously suspected buyers—will not be making bids for the company.
