The season two finale of Daredevil: Born Again is almost upon us. Heck, it might already be here by the time you see this article. But with the final piece of the puzzle looming, Marvel Studios has released an incredibly intriguing clip that teases at something we were not expecting.
When last we left the show, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) had returned to the public eye as one of the defenders of his girlfriend Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll). His sudden reemergence was a shock to Mayor Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and his Anti-Vigilante Task Force, culminating in that group attempting to kill Matt on the way out of the courthouse.
Well, in this new clip, Matt is still alive, and he’s got Fisk on the witness stand. Let the fireworks begin. We’ll let the clip go from there.
So Matt and Fisk have established that Daredevil was on the ship that sank earlier in the season. Only Daredevil can’t testify. That would jeopardize Matt’s secret identity. But, in the clip, a line like “You and I both know who Daredevil is” certainly suggests Matt could do the unthinkable. He could unmask himself.
Is the season finale of Daredevil: Born Again season two another “I am Iron Man” moment? That seems to be the suggestion, except we can’t even fathom what that would mean from there. Daredevil has done some very bad things.
Everything we’ve heard about the season finale is that it’s not just the best episode of the season but one of the best episodes of Marvel TV ever. We’ll find out at 9 p.m. ET on May 5 when the episode drops, and we’ll have much more later this week.
