Personica Intelligence’s forthcoming iClock will arouse you from your slumber with the soothing sounds of NBA scores or stock quotes. Before you slip off to dreamland, use voice commands to tell the $249 alarm clock what sort of information you d like to hear when you awake. The iClock then taps into the Internet via your home network (wired or wireless), downloads the relevant data, and keeps it quietly queued until the appointed morning hour. The first thing you hear come 7 a.m. will be a robotic voice chirping something akin to, “Los Angeles Clippers 102, Boston Celtics 98.” That s my fantasy wake-up message, at least.
