The team behind Wet Hot American Summer is making a comedy called Moon Cruise about, well, a cruise ship in space. Around the moon, presumably.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the new show will air on TBS and star Michael Ian Black and he’ll executive produce along with Michael Showalter, Jonathan Stern, and David Wain. Other than the “space Love Boat” conceit and that the concept came from Black, there are no other plot details.
Moon Cruise will join alien abduction comedy People of Earth as the network’s second science fiction half-hour comedy. And while the concept sounds like it lends itself to broader than People of Earth’s, with this team behind it, Moon Cruise could be a perfect complement to that show’s relentless weirdness.
