Adding a second screen to a laptop usually means being stuck at a desk, but the MNN Portable Monitor 15.6inch is a 1080p IPS display that is thin and light enough to slip into a backpack alongside your computer. It connects over USB-C or Mini HDMI, works in both landscape and portrait orientations, and comes with a PU leather smart cover that doubles as a foldable stand. The panel runs at 1920 by 1080 resolution with 178-degree viewing angles, and an HDR mode delivers brighter highlights and stronger contrast when you want more from video or gaming content.

Head over to Amazon to get the MNN Portable Monitor 15.6inch for just $50, down from its usual price of $90. That’s a $40 discount and 44% off.

A mini monitor you can take everywhere you go

The MNN Portable Monitor features full-featured USB-C ports that support both power and video over a single cable. As long as your device supports Thunderbolt 3.0 or USB 3.1 with DisplayPort Alt Mode, you don’t have to worry about a separate power adapter. It also has a mini HDMI port on board for devices that don’t have a compatible USB-C output, though you’ll need to supply power separately through one of the USB-C ports when using HDMI.

The box includes a USB-C to USB-C cable, a Mini HDMI to HDMI cable, a USB-A to USB-C power cable, and a 5V/2A power adapter. That covers most connection scenarios right out of the box, whether you’re plugging into a laptop, a gaming console like a PS5 or Switch, or a smartphone with video-out support.

You’ll find that the monitor’s brightness starts at 30% when connected to your device via a single USB-C cable. However, if you want to push brightness and volume above 70 percent, an external power supply rated 5V/2A or higher must be connected. The included adapter handles that, or you can use any compatible USB power source. On-screen settings are controlled via a track wheel and power button on the monitor’s side, with an OSD menu for adjusting brightness, volume, and other display preferences.

You don’t have to worry about audio either. The monitor has built-in dual speakers that provide basic audio for video calls or casual viewing. You can also use the 3.5mm headphone jack to connect external headphones or speakers for better sound.

The IPS panel includes blue-light reduction and a flicker-free display mode, which helps during longer sessions. Multiple display modes are supported, including extended, mirrored, and second-screen, depending on how you set them up in your device’s display settings. At $50, the MNN Portable Monitor comes with all the cables and a power adapter you need to use it right away, making it a solid value compared to its $90 list price.
