If you don’t get the reference, it’s probably because you haven’t read March, Congressman Lewis’ award-winning graphic novel trilogy and first-hand account of the fight for civil rights alongside luminaries such as Martin Luther King Jr. He’s cosplaying as a younger version of himself from the marches of 1965, where African-Americans walked from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, to bring attention to the racially-based voter suppression of many Southern states.
We’ve shown you some excellent cosplay from this year’s Comic-Con, and there will be more to come, but this? This is truly great.
