My book about humanity’s future, Scatter, Adapt and Remember: How Humans Will Survive a Mass Extinction, comes out in paperback next week. To celebrate, I asked amazing geek band The Doubleclicks to create a book trailer. The song they wrote is wondrous.

For those who aren’t familiar with The Doubleclicks, they’re a singer-songwriter duo from Oregon who sing about everything from synapsids and fandom, to science and geek love. They just raised nearly $80,900 (from an $18,00o goal) on Kickstarter to write a new album called Dimetrodon, and they post new songs every week on their YouTube channel.

The animations in this video were done by Leigh Lahav, and you can see more of her impressively adorable work on her YouTube channel.

Want to learn more about what mass extinctions are, and what humanity needs to do to live long past the one that’s probably happening right now? Check out the book (now in cheap paperback)!
