This ‘Scream’ Box Set Features a Blood-Spattered Phone That Prank-Calls You

You better know what to say when the killer asks about your favorite scary movie.

Okay, technically, the replica cordless phone included in this snazzy new Scream box set does not actually call you. It is, however, splashed with blood to match the handset Casey Becker clutches in the 1996 slasher‘s iconic opening scene, and it’s rigged to ring and play memorable quotes from the film. We’re betting with all certainty that “What’s your favorite scary movie?” made the cut.

Hello Sidney reported first on the release (via Bloody Disgusting); it’s an Amazon exclusive, and you can pre-order it now ($110), though it won’t be sent out until December 15. Too late for spooky season, but perfect timing to celebrate the film’s 30th anniversary, since it first hit theaters December 20, 1996. This set would also make a nice gift for the horror collector on your holiday list.

The set includes the classic film on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital, which come packaged in a Woodsboro Police Department “case file.” You also get a “Persons of Interest” list, Polaroid-style suspect photos (perfect for any Scream-themed murder board), a reproduction newspaper clipping, and that quote-spewing phone.

Really, the phone is the main attraction here, since you probably already own the movie in some form. But it’s a literal conversation piece, and while it may not be worth $110, it’s equal parts gruesome and clever. Not gonna lie, we kind of really want it. Will you be picking up this Scream 30th anniversary collector’s set?
