NEC JVC has three new high-definition plasma televisions coming out – two 42-inch models and a 50-inch. One of the 42-inchers, the GD-V422PCE, produces over a billion colors, which should make for a very nice, rich looking picture. They all are nice, of course, as far as plasma goes, plus each is capable of displaying a regular XGA source (1,024 by 760 pixels) if you wanted to use them as a giant monitor. Prices aren’t announced yet, but I’d expect something in the $6,000 – 7,000 range for the 42-inch models, and way more than that for the 50.
