Unless they up the specs by approximately a whole lot, the Tiqit palmtop — which Handtops.com is reporting is still alive and to be released later this year — is going to be stillborn. With specifications that just barely surpass (some) Pocket PC PDAs, it’s going to take a lot more than just an SD and PCMCIA slot to convince people to purchase something powered by a 300MHz Pentium, especially if it’s supposed to be running regular Windows software. Who knows, maybe Tiqit has an ace up their sleeves? If so, it better be an Ace of Gigahertz.
