Despite XM’s removal of its USB tuner from the market, the time-shifting radio fans aren’t giving up easily, and neither are the companies that make the hardware and software that make it possible. We reported last week about a cable from Hybrid Mobile Solutions that let you connect an XM tuner to a PC, although it wasn’t then working with the popular TimeTrax software—it does now.
You have another option now, too, though, which is to purchase a $100 kit from TimeTrax themselves, called ‘Timetrax Complete,’ which includes not only the time-shifting sofware and an USB interface box, but an XM tuner itself. While I hate to play favorites when I haven’t used either product (especially in two small companies), it looks to me like the $100 TimeTrax Complete is a lot better deal then trying to piece it all together yourself.
TimeTrax software lets you record your XM programming to a PC, like a radio TiVo.
