You don’t need to skip an entire month’s rent in order to set yourself up with a good TV. If you’re mainly looking for a display that’s got a decent picture and is big enough to fit your living room wall, look no further than Toshiba. Sure, side-by-side, you put this next to something like the LG C6 OLED, and you’re going to notice a drastic difference in image quality. However, you’re not going to have this sitting next to some near-$2,000 TV. When you’re looking at it on it’s own, it’s going to look more than fine, and you’ll have only spent $250 on it.

This Toshiba C350 Series TV is made smart with the help of Fire TV. Lots of folks who end up buying an expensive OLED panel still find themselves adding on a Fire TV Stick because they prefer the user interface designed by Amazon to whatever the manufacturer cooked up themselves and shipped with the TV. Here, you just get Fire TV installed on the display right out of the box.
Fire TV lets you access tons of movies and shows through all of the popular streaming apps. Download apps like Netflix, Disney Plus, Hulu, and HBO Max. It even has some of the more niche streaming services like Shudder, Nebula, and Dropout. Plus, you can watch lots of free content across a number of free channels and apps like Pluto TV and Tubi.
My favorite part about the Fire TV is the Alexa-enabled remote. A pet peeve of mine is having to type out long titles on an embedded keypad using the arrow keys—especially when some apps for some reason think just putting the whole alphabet in one straight line is a good user experience (it’s not). The Alexa button on the Fire TV remote let’s you bypass that by just holding it down and having you speak the title, genre, actor’s name, or whatever tidbit you need to search to find the show or movie you want to watch. It’s so much easier to just say the words “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” than it is to type that out one letter at a time.
