Word has it that Toshiba is planning on putting a TV tuner into one of their laptops, to which I can only really say: it’s about time. It’s always been painful to have this sharp, crystalline displays go to waste when it could, for a few dollars more in tuner chips, be working just fine as a TV. I know there are lots of ways you could add the functionality now, through either software or hardware solutions, but it just seems like such a no-brainer I’m surprised more companies aren’t doing it.
I mean, it would be like Apple not putting high-quality line-in recording into the iPod, even though the hardware could support it. Oh wait…
