Toy Story 5 hit theaters last week. It’s the first Toy Story film in seven years, unless you count the Lightyear movie that came out a few years back. It’s a return of all our favorite toys including Woody, Jesse, and Buzz Lightyear.

The ingenious part of these Pixar films from a merchandising perspective is that all the characters are already toys. There is a clear template for what Disney can put on the shelves for kids to play with at home after seeing the movie. So that’s exactly what’s going on here. The Disney Store has all the main characters from the films as replica, interactive toys. And among them, the Buzz Lightyear action figure is currently on sale.

We’re now on the final day of Prime Day. All week long, Amazon has had some huge opportunities to save across all sorts of products including TVs, laptops, kitchen appliances, and even toys. The Buzz Lightyear figure normally sells for $40, but has now come down by 15% to just $34 for a limited time.

Fully Articulated Design

This Buzz Lightyear action figure is fully interactive, with 15 total phrases he says in English including his iconic catchphrase, “To infinity and beyond!” These can be activated with the blue, green, and red buttons along his chest.

Sorry, but you won’t be able to factory reset this Buzz to Spanish like had happened in Toy Story 3. It does seem to have much of the same features he had in the first flick though, such as karate chop action and an arm laser with dynamic light and sound effects. And he wouldn’t be a true Space Ranger without his wings that pop out (not a flying toy).

Additionally, you can flip open the panel covering his left forearm. The gauntlet opens up to reveal the wrist communicator device which Buzz is regularly seen using to report his mission logs to Star Command. It is just a sticker. Of course, for real authenticity to make your Buzz more like the Buzz we know from the films, you can peel that sucker off like Buzz did when he rejected his worldview while having an existential crisis in Sid’s house in the original 1995 movie.

And as an added detail, the box this Buzz comes in is of a similar spaceship packaging design he’s seen packed into in many of the movies.

If you collect more of the Toy Story toys from the set, you’ll even unlock additional phrases as the toys can interact with each other.
