Take two million fast food straws, arrange them artfully, make them glow, and you’ve got tomorrow’s interior design. Tokujin Yoshioka, a designer from Japan, won accolades and a few grumpy comments for his “Tornado,” an installation he created out of the aforementioned two million straws at the Moore Building during the Design Miami conference last week. The result looks like foamy water, or perhaps a hay loft made out of glass. More gorgeous images after the jump.

Yoshioka said the installation is supposed to look like Miami weather. The award-winning designer is also famous for making chairs out of folded paper.
