UK accountancy firm KPMG is starting a ‘Top 20’ chart to keep track of Britain’s most popular mobile phone ring tones. By aggregating data from the mobile companies themselves, KPMG hopes to become the official reference for the burgeoning ringtone market. It seems it’s needed, too. Right now Ringtones.co.uk reports ‘I Don’t Want You Back’ by US singer Eamon (who?) is number one, yet Nokia puts Britney Spears’ (who?) single ‘Everytime’ on top.
