BIOS has a short review of the V-MMV Portable Multimedia Player from V-Tec—the one that looks sort of like a grey iPod. Although it has the basic framework for a video player, it doesn’t look like it even competes well with some of the other players in that segment, with limited format choice and sorry battery life. Another strike against it may actually be its saving grace for a few people: while memory cards stick out of the side of the device when plugged in, it can read up to ten different flash memory formats. If you needed to back up 20GB of data from a variety of memory card formats, the £309 player might be a decent option. Otherwise, sounds like you should steer clear.
