Although it’s far from the first company to put computers in cars, I hadn’t thought about exactly how useful Verizon’s EV-DO network would be to driving until I saw this work from VeaLink. Just the ability to quickly use Google Maps alone would be invaluable (especially when someone builds a simple GPS coordinate interface for Maps).
VeaLink has also wisely hooked the PCs up to the vehicles’ remote start wiring, so you can turn your car computer on from inside the house and let it get a head start on syncing all your music and video content.
