Although I’ve been blessed enough to have dodged the cellular spam bullet, I know not all of you have been so lucky. And while it’s far from an epidemic (yet), Verizon Wireless is trying to nip it in the bud, filing federal lawsuits against a group of alleged New Jersey cell phone spammers who sent “152,000 unsolicited commercial electronic messages to thousands of Verizon Wireless subscribers.”
Until Verizon takes down their awful sign that mars the downtown Manhattan skyline, they will remain my sworn enemy. I am glad, though, to see someone try to take a chunk out of these assholes before it becomes an even bigger deal. That being said, you can only do so much with lawsuits; perhaps a technological solution is needed. Like the one for email. Nevermind.
