The Virtual Family Dinner was created so that friends and family separated by distance could enjoy “virtual” dinners together. A TV, speakers, camera and mic capture you on one end while a similar set up does the same on the other. The concept is designed to keep the elderly from eating alone. It’s expected to roll out in a year for roughly $500 to $1,000, though for that money you could just buy a low-end PC and set them up with some videoconferencing.
