Virus Strike Borrows Flight Control's Mojo for Puzzle Gaming

The "connect colored blocks" subgenre isn't exactly fresh—which is what makes Virus Strike so interesting. It has managed to put some new life into an ancient puzzler type, letting you guide each falling brick with lines you draw.

The format isn't totally novel—you're still just trying to line up spheres with other spheres of the same color to make them vanish, a la Tetris or Columns. But the line-guided action is proven fun, and looks more satisfying than just watching bricks or blocks float down on their own. Virus Strike is free for now, so give it a shot if you're a puzzle fan and see if it tickles your brick-breaking fancy. [iTunes]
