Visteon has a new portable DVD player that does something that’s actually pretty innovative, if sort of in a “oh, duh” way. They’ve made their new portable DVD player dockable, so that when attached to an automotive roof (ceiling?) mounting kit, the picture will flip and work like a regular in-car DVD player (that is, to say, not upside down). Then when you’re done, you can just pop the DVD player out and take it inside. While in the dock the DVD player’s power and audio are connected to the car, routing sound through the car’s speakers, and recharging the player’s internal batteries.
And when your kid drops it in the hotel pool, Visteon will kindly sell you another!
