Vonage has announced today a team-up with Viseon to provide a Videophone-over-IP service that will be shown in beta form at CES. Details are way slim, but it looks like you’ll have to use their specific phone devices, not just any old videophone you happen to have lying around. For that reason alone—besides the endemic problems with videophones in general (e.g. fugly people)—I doubt this will amount to much.
