These Vutec Art Screens offer an interesting alternative to just leaving your big-screen plasma TV or projection screen on the wall at all times. The Art Screen is essentially a custom frame and motorized canvas the can be remotely-controlled to raise and lower a piece of art over your television, allowing you to hide the screen when not in use. You can pick from their pre-licensed art or have them custom print a selection of your own, provided you’ve gotten permission from the original artist. Their prices are locked on the site (dealers only), but I think it’s probably fair to say a custom-built RS-232-controlled motorized painting is probably going to be a little spendy.
