Waiting for MacWorld

Reading time 1 minute

Thank all that is plastic and shiny that CES is over. It was fun to waltz from vendor to vendor, hoping they would actually be showing off something new and interesting, and not just pushing their products we already knew about in 2004. But I’m definitely glad to be back in Brooklyn, the town which feels more like home each time I crunch onto its polyfluorocarbon shores.

This week will be lots of CES cleanup, I’m sure, as well as MacWorld. Jobs’s keynote is tomorrow, which should show us both a Flash iPod and possibly a sub-$500 iMac (or iHome, if you believe in the increasingly spurious mockup). John Markoff has some thoughts about possible directions Apple might be going in The Times, and most Mac sites are abuzz for obvious reasons. Should be another fun week—even without all the hookers.
