When I think of professional net surfers—present company excluded, of course—I think of elastic-ankled sweatpants and copious amounts of Cheeto dust. So why are all subjects in Gabriela Herman’s Bloggers series so damn good looking?

Good photography, of course! Herman, who shot a handful of bloggers in their natural habitats—in the dark, bathed in their laptops’ light—lends a hypnotic air to the solitary profession. Very nice, even if staged. It’s an idealized fantasy of what it is to be plugged in most waking hours of the day, for sure.
