Veteran CG artist Jim Kazanjian has put together an excellent series of insane, somewhat terrifying composite scenes, like something out of a long, apocalyptic nightmare. Crumbling buildings, flaming wreckage—the images are gorgeously broken, but we're glad they're fakes.

The images incorporate hundreds of faded snapshots, but because of Kazanjian's digital trickery, it's nearly impossible to find seams in the spooky worlds he's generated. Though we wouldn't expect any less from the guy—he's done CGI work for TV, film, and videogames. [Jim Kazanjian via DesignBoom]
