The age of LCD TVs is clearly upon us. At first I thought this said “Western Digital,” (the hard drive manufacturer) had entered into the market, but it’s just Westinghouse Digital—not quite as big of a shocker. Oddly, the 17-inch model, the LTV-17v1 looks as if it could also serve as a perfectly viable PC monitor, with a 14ms response time and a 1,280 by 1,024 native resolution. The 20-inch model, the LTV-20v2, is a bit more staid, offsetting its relatively poor 640 x 480 pixel resolution with a 160-degree viewing angle.
We should see both new 17- and 20-inch models join the existing 20-, 27-, and 30-inch options from Westinghouse any day now for $500 and $600 respectively.
