Apple just unveiled the 2026 MacBook Air with the M5 chip, which means there’s never been a better time to pick up the 2025 MacBook Air with the M4 chip. It marks one of the steepest discounts the model has received since launching last year.

Everyday Performance

The 15-inch MacBook Air strikes a good balance between portability and performance. At just 3.32 pounds, it slips easily into a backpack or tote, yet it delivers the kind of speed most users will be satisfied with for everyday use. Apple equips this model with a 10-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, along with support for as much as 24GB of unified memory. Powered by the M4 chip, it runs up to twice as fast as the M1 MacBook Air and dramatically outpaces older Intel-based Air models.

Apple built the M4 chip with advanced on-device intelligence in mind, helping the system handle complex workflows with impressive efficiency. Everyday tasks such as drafting reports, managing spreadsheets, and juggling dozens of browser tabs feel fluid. Creative projects like photo editing or light video production also benefit from the added graphical power and faster processing speeds.

Battery life remains solid. Apple estimates up to 18 hours on a single charge, enough to cover a full workday and then some. For remote workers and students, you’ll won’t find yourself often scrambling for outlets in coffee shops, airports, or lecture halls.

A 12MP front-facing camera supports 1080p video, delivering sharp, detailed visuals for meetings and virtual classes. The three-microphone array captures clear audio, minimizing background noise and often eliminating the need for an external mic.

The keyboard is backlit for comfortable typing in dim environments, and Touch ID provides a fast, secure way to unlock the laptop or approve purchases. Two Thunderbolt ports handle high-speed data transfers and external displays, while the MagSafe charging port connects securely and detaches safely if someone were to trip over the cable. A built-in headphone jack remains onboard for those who prefer wired audio.

Integration with other Apple devices adds further convenience. Features like AirDrop, iMessage, and Handoff allow seamless transitions between a MacBook, iPhone, and iPad, keeping files and conversations in sync.

Several configurations are part of the current promotion. The 256GB model is available for $1,099, while the 512GB version drops to $1,199, each reflecting a $200 discount. Those who want 24GB of memory paired with 512GB of storage can pick it up for $1,299, a $300 savings. Color options include sky blue, silver, starlight, and midnight, giving everyone a range of finishes to match their style.
