You Can Get a Kindle Fire HDX on a Four-Part Amazon Instalment Plan

If you’ve been trying to work out how you might pay for a new Kindle Fire, Amazon might be able to help: it’s pushing a four-part instalment plan for its HDX line.

Customers buying its $230 Kindle Fire HDX or $380 HDX 8.9 can stump up 25 percent of the purchase price (plus tax and shipping charges), then pay three more equally sized instalments, over 90-day increments.

There aren’t many catches, and the payment scheme is interest-free. But don’t pay, and they’ll brick your tablet. “Our remedies will include the right to deregister your Kindle Fire HDX device,” writes Amazon in its terms. “Which will block your ability to access Amazon content from your Kindle Fire HDX device.” There goes that plan.
