Australian firm Zentronic has announced a very interesting DVD player with a ton of features and supported formats for just $300. The Z500 is a straight-ahead DVD player that can play back burnt DVDs and CDs with many different formats, including DivX/Xvid and WMV9, but can also use its Wi-Fi or gigabit Ethernet connection to stream content from your PC. And if that’s not enough, you can plug in a USB 2.0 hard drive and stream content in from there.
And it’s not just video formats: the Z500 will stream OGG Vorbis, AAC, WMA9 (including restricted files), and even FLAC. Looks like a great bit of hardware—hopefully it’ll live up to its promise.
