Who says rugs can't be gadgets? Certainly not Parisian designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Their approach to floor-covering is decidedly low-tech, but the zipper-fused wool panels on their new Zip Rug hand creative control over to the user, allowing one to configure a rug of any size and color configuration. Now if only they could come up with a digital version that lets you program patterns and colors on your PC. And magically let you print them via USB. And was free.
